Prenatal and postnatal nutrition interventions for pregnant mothers at risk of preeclampsia and gestational diabetes in under-resourced communities, conducted in collaboration with Southern Illinois Health Foundation and supported by Centene Corporation and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Neonatal ICU visits reduced from 44% to 8% within one year of our pilots in Chicago.

Our efforts contributed to the enactment of Illinois Senate Bill 967, signed into law by Governor JB Pritzker, making Illinois the first state in the nation to pass legislation specifically addressing pre- and postnatal health for mothers in underserved communities.

Providing nutritious meals to mothers five days a week, twice daily, resulted in the following outcomes:

A reduction in miscarriage rates among women diagnosed with preeclampsia and gestational diabetes in two major Illinois cities.

Increased birth weights.

Fewer instances of premature births.

97% of mothers and infants reported healthy, positive well-being.
